Today we wrote Anzac poems. First we had a special Assembly then we came back to class and talked about Anzac day. We read a book about the war and write words on the board to help us with our writing. We read a poem Rachel wrote as a guide. Next we had to lay on the floor like soldiers had to in the war, covering our heads with our hands to practice if bombs or guns were shooting. We thought about what we would see, smell, hear and feel.
Here are some of our poems to describe what it would be like to be an Anzac soldier.
by Ryan and Kalani
I am an ANZAC soldier.
Squash squash I lay fallen from dreadful war.
I'll never forget this day

Jayme did.
DeleteWonderful work room 10. Amazing poems by you all. It shows how you do understand the meaning of ANZAC and why we show our respect to our fallen soldiers on ANZAC day.
